Our vegetable CSA is a farm membership program which involves weekly market-style pick ups at the farm or market (see below for description). CSA members essentially buy in to the farm for a season with an upfront payment (which really helps us small scale farmers because the beginning of the season is investment time and we have little winter or early spring income). In exchange for their investment in farm membership, CSA members receive a weekly portion of the harvest. If you can't make it to the farm on Tuesdays, we also offer pick up at our farmers market booth on Saturday at the Hollywood Farmers Market and Sunday at Orenco Station.
For $735 you get 24 weeks of approximately $32-$35 worth of vegetables. We consider it to be plenty of veggies to feed a family of four. Almost every week you can have an unlimited amount of cooking greens and salad when you pick up on the farm.
For $415 you get 24 weeks of approximately $17-$20 worth of veggies. Plenty of veggies for two veggie loving folks. The only difference is the amount, but you'll get to choose what you want within certain parameters, just like the full share but smaller. And, just like the full share, most every week you can have an unlimited amount of cooking greens and salad when you pick up on the farm
How it works
Signing up for the main season veggie CSA buys you 24 weeks (May 21st through October 29th this year) of the very best veggies. Don’t like eggplant? You never have to take it. Love potatoes? Get extra any week they are available. Want to try new things? Use the weekly recipes and get lots of variety. Anyway you build it, the veggies will taste great! And our cooking greens and salad greens are almost always unlimited to CSA members! You get as much as you plan to use that week, every week.
Though we offer pick ups on the farm and at the markets, we encourage you to pick up your veggies, at least once, on the farm. Picking up on the farm means you get to hang out and really see where your food comes from. Take pictures, pick herbs in the CSA garden, take your family on a tour of the flower patch, or bring your friends out for a picnic on CSA day. On Tuesday during pick up it’s your farm to wander around. This year we’re bringing back the herb garden and starting a children’s garden to encourage kids to plant, grow, and pick some veggies of their own! We are, of course, a working farm and have some rules to keep you, the animals, and the produce safe but we really want you to see and connect with your farmers and your veggies.
Pick up is here on our farm on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 6:30. If you can’t make it, let me know before noon on Tuesday and we’ll work something out. Veggie shares are available at our weekend markets, Hollywood Farmers Market in NE Portland on Saturday or Orenco Station Farmers Market in Hillsboro on Sunday. Add ons need to be picked up at the farm. Our address is 10850 NW Jackson Quarry rd. Use the third driveway on pick up days and take a right at the first gate (you’ll see it). Leave through the second driveway to avoid head to head traffic.
We're excited to be partnering with great neighboring farms and food businesses to offer much more to our CSA members! All these great products will be available to pick up at our farm CSA pick up on Tuesdays starting May 24th. This is the best food you're gonna find.
