We were warned. But we can't resist fun eggplants. The seed packet described these cannibal tomato eggplants as "astonishingly bitter." Supposedly Fijian cannibals made a sauce from them to go with people meat. My first attempt to remove and counter their bitterness by salting, draining, boiling, discarding the liquid then sautéing in Indian spices was not successful. If anyone would like a few fruits to try to figure out how to make them palatable, I'll give you some and you can join the challenge.
